My Blogs about running :)
How it began...
Spring of 2012 I started working out routinely. I would walk about 4 miles at a local
trail and go for walks with a good friend of mine and her beautiful
baby boy who is the same age as M. I started running with M ina jogger and lost 10 lbs. Fast.
Seriously. Pushing a jogger is no joke. I was pushing 35lbs of baby and stroller.
No wonder the 10lbs fell right off!
This was great motivation for me to continue working out. I was also using it as a stress relief as I was (and still am) going through a divorce. As we all know running releases endorphins, works your muscles, including your heart, and generally makes you healthier both physically and mentally. It was just want I needed.
My uncle asked me if I wanted to run a half marathon with him and 2 of my other uncles. So, I started training for a half marathon. I can currently run a little over 6.5 miles and am running my first race this weekend, an 8k, which is roughly 5 miles, so I know I can complete it :-).
So, my transition to becoming a runner started and turned into something I really enjoy. This section of my blog will discuss my journey as a runner. Any helpful tips/advice is more than welcome!
Be well,
Bridgette
